I'm Kara...
...a Norwalk, CT based mixed media artist with New Jersey roots. My art practice started with painting and drawing, but I always felt like something was missing.
I began experimenting with different techniques and creative hobbies, and took countless online and in person classes. In the process, I learned I don't need to force my art to fit within a narrow definition of traditional mediums, and I'm happiest when I am learning from myself and others. My art is all about mixing these skills and materials to create unique pieces. While I dabble in everything, I specialize in mixed media paintings and art journaling, alcohol inks, and turning found objects into art. I'm passionate about incorporating layers and exploring innovative methods to add texture to my work by blending techniques and mediums that might not typically be paired together.
KKellz Studios is not just a place to share my art. It's about making the space to find my own way to create, learn, and share that with others.
